While tree stands are all the rage, the old fashioned Hunting Blind is still a good way to harvest a deer and in some situations is even an advantage. A good Hunting Blind should provide you with both a good view of the surrounding area and provide cover for small movements.
The key to a good Hunting Blind is to get the blind erected as soon as possible. Deer need time to get used to seeing the blind in the woods and not be alarmed by its sudden appearance in the days before hunting season. For further effect place some dirty laundry in the blind to let deer get used to a human smell in the area. Another trick is to place a large trash bag hanging in sight above the blind so that deer are used to seeing movement and small noises coming for the blind. If you are hunting in an area with a lot of other hunters you may want to consider an orange ribbon above the blind as your blaze orange vest will be shielded from view by the blind itself.
